neutral saftey switch

so i am using a van tilt column in my 71 c-10 and had to remove the neutral saftey switch fromt he column as the brake rod hits it and broke it soo. i got to thinking why cant i use the stitch on the side of the 4l60e as my neutral switch and back up light switch? so amone have a pin out for that switch on a 2004 silverado 4.8 4l60e?

Re: neutral saftey switch

Not sure of your exact connector on the side of your 4L60E, but in 2004 GM used this connector.

Re: neutral saftey switch

I've posted the diagram on how to wire it up several times in the last couple of months.

Re: neutral saftey switch

Let me see if I have this right I can bring my backup lights
hot to pin c and out on pin f
Can I bring starter signal in on e and out on g?
Will switch on trans stand anought current for starter signal or am I going to need to wire a relay in? And use the relay to carry the current for starter signal?

More than a couple.
I reached out to admins about getting it stickied ..... and never heard back.
Be good for others to try and get it done as well.

You are correct on the pins for the back up lights and the starter, but you will definitely need a relay for the starter. You will likely smoke the NSS on the first start going straight through it without the starter relay.
