Hood rockets for 1957?????
I was talking to a friend of mine that has owned many 55-57 Chevy trucks over the past decades. I mentioned how the 57 has the bumps on the hood as the 57 Chevy car does except the car has the chrome rockets. He said they made some accessory ones for the truck. I've never seen that or heard of them, did they exist? Maybe from JC Whittney years ago?

Re: Hood rockets for 1957?????
This is what they looked like .
I just checked the Fillingstation.com & BrothersTrucks & Classic industries and couldn't find any . I checked them 7 years ago and they listed them but were not available then. Ya might search eBay but hold on to you wallet they will be spendy.

I did some searching also, those are for Cameo may be what he meant.
Maybe back in the day Pep Boys or JC Whitless may have made a copy of sorts.

Re: Hood rockets for 1957?????
When I built my truck in the '90s repop rockets were available from several sources. I remember seeing them in the Golden State Pickup Parts catalog. I opted out because they were wrong for my build. Had I known how much the value would increase I would have bought several pair to hold on to.

Re: Hood rockets for 1957?????
$595 is reasonable for those if that's what one wants. Out of stock though.

Re: Hood rockets for 1957?????
Personally, I'm not a fan of the rockets. But then I'm not a big fan of '57 Chevy cars either. I LOVE the '55 and 56's though.
The rockets don't seem to add or complete anything on the trucks. To me, they always seem tacked on. They go on with all the "extra" stuff. The door handle scratch guards, fog lights, spot lights, visors, deluxe trim, big window & windshield chrome lock strip/trim, full chrome wheel covers instead of dog dish caps, etc.

Re: Hood rockets for 1957?????
I'm a chrome junkie and wanted a set of hood rockets for my truck really bad when I got it, and would have easily paid the five or six hundred for a pair. Then I finally saw a truck at a show that had them and got a close look and for some reason I didn't care for the look. I think it was because the hood is so tall where they mount. I decided that I didn't want a set any more.

We'll probably never see styling like that again.
