Where are the usual rust spots 4 suburbans?

So I scored this awesome suburban the other day and was thinking about flipping it untill I drove it,I simply love it and now I contemplating keeping it. I am well versed in trucks and a little experience with the Blazers but this is my first suburban and the rust is showing up differently than what I'm used to. The rockers seem to be rotting from the outside in rather than the usually door sill area. I also noticed rust starting at the inside roof top where it meets the windshield and behind the rear seat where the front bed wall meets the flooring. Pretty obvious why the rear quarters are starting to rust at the inside floor level. Are there other areas that are typically problem spots for rust that I need to look for on this particular body style?.

Like you, I've had several pickups and a Jimmy before buying my Suburban. I regretted selling that one so I bought another. The rust problems are the same as a pickup with the exception of the kickup area behind the middle seat. Looks like your roof seam sealer has broken down.

Good morning neighbor. All of the above items and the rear hatch and gate are problematic if you have them, more so than barn doors which would be similar to the pickup doors as far as rust. Oh and the taillight housings are in a box that can fill up with dirt and rust out.

The spot for the spare tire was rusted through on mine. Low to the ground and accumulates water when the hatch had a leak. Then i had the normal stuff, rockers and floor near it, windshield, around the tire wells on the outside. Drip rails too, I think My body guy said the a pillar support under the fender/door was bad too.

Rust through in the vertical floor portion under the rear seat was the bigest issue for me (as shown It was an indicator of issues with the large crossmember and crossmember to inner sill fastening points. I think many suburbans suffer from this since moisture gets trapped between crossmember and the spot welded floor vertical piece . I fixed mine but it was a huge job. Check the condition of body at ends of crossmember.
