Fuel line from carb to fuel pump?
Can you buy replacement hard lines or is there an alternative? Mine is striped and will not seal

Re: Fuel line from carb to fuel pump?
Yeah, sorry I didn't provide a link, but a simple search should do the trick

Re: Fuel line from carb to fuel pump?
I found one on Summit but it says it’s for a 71/72. My truck is a 70.

Re: Fuel line from carb to fuel pump?
Thanks for the confirmation. That one worked with no issues. I also found one that was specific to 67 to 70. I can’t imagine there any different from 67 to 72

Hard to strip a flare fitting. The seal is on the flare seat, not the threads. You might need a new fitting on the carb and pump too. You got a pic of where it was leaking. |

Re: Fuel line from carb to fuel pump?
I can post them tomorrow. It’s leaking where the hard line meets the fuel pump. Fuel pump is new. But on the hard line is striped. Some of the threads look flat. Maybe it’s not sitting properly but it feels correct. I’ve tried three times.

Re: Fuel line from carb to fuel pump?
Does it snug up tight or pop loose when you tighten it?

Re: Fuel line from carb to fuel pump?
Good!
It’s fixable. Try this. You need to mate the flare tubing to the seat. You need to induce enough heat (minuscule)to move a tiny bit of the metal surfaces to make them seal. It’s the tighten loosen thing. Tighten the tube nut just snug, loosen it off a 1/4 turn. Tighten again but a bit snugger, loosen again. Do that about 6 times and you’ll move a little metal and mate the surfaces. Should stop your leak. If not try another 6 times. This method works extremely well when seating new fittings. Usually the only time it doesn’t work is if the flare is cracked. |

Re: Fuel line from carb to fuel pump?
Thank you. I’ll try this tomorrow. I’m super discouraged and tired of dealing with fuel. I’d rather be coverage in oil!
