Re: Belleview winch or grillguard opinions needed
Ordinarily I'd say winch because that's what I like more... usually. But when I look at this truck in that 2-tone with painted bumper I think it is perfect for that grille guard. I think that would be cooler than a winch on THAT truck. Would look like a high plains ranch truck. You have other trucks for the winches, right?

Re: Belleview winch or grillguard opinions needed
I’m a sucker for both but I’ll say warn bumper and belleview

I like both. But to me a winch is more useful....I vote winch.

Re: Belleview winch or grillguard opinions needed
Both look mean on our era K trucks
I would have to say grill guards look better on 71-72 Because the holes line up with headlights And your turn signals are in the bumper Winches on 71-72 make you loose the bumper So you have to mount remote turn signals on the winch bumper On 67-70 the blinkers are in the grill so you don’t have to mount new ones On the winch bumper (In my opinion, a cleaner look) Grill guards on 67-70 take away (cover the horizontal lines) of the grill But, it’s your truck, do what you like |

Chevyland the first picture looks just like my grill guard only for a chevy instead. Do you know the brand. Mine was made in aberdeen SD.

Re: Belleview winch or grillguard opinions needed
Since you dabble in belleviews, have you seen any covers like soft vinyl for these upright winches? I’d like a warn with the old hub in the logo not new style.

Not to take away from the OP, but I want a winch in the back. Weight distribution and hiding it protected is what I am after.

Re: Belleview winch or grillguard opinions needed
Chevyland brings up good points on appearance depending on which front grille. And while I really like the 71/72 grille, it's probably because it's so plain and simple. Just simple grille work for the radiator rather than some styling feature of the truck front end. You aren't covering much up. I feel that way on my '72 GMC with the proper bumper guards... look great on Chevy/don't like on GMC. They get up into the grille area with competing lines. I like 67-70 guards on GMCs.
If you don't use the grille guard on this truck, what truck will you use it on? I'd put that on, then find or make a headache rack using expanded steel, like a matching accessory. That's a good truck to do a choice few matched era "truck" accessories on. Like from a Luverne catalog cover or page out of the Silver Book. Winches look cool on any truck and it's not like you are a one truck kinda man
