Re: Gearbox spanner wrench
If you posted a pic of what you’re trying to tighten up I’m sure someone could suggest what wrench to use.

Good thing you posted a picture. I was trying to figure out where a nut would be on the front of a transmission... If I was going to buy a spanner wrench I would get an adjustable one. I have quite a few steering boxes out, but I can't get out to measure one at this time. https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Fin...04059106&psc=1 They have 3mm & 4mm pin ones. Whatever that is. LockDoc

Re: Gearbox spanner wrench
Brass drift and a hammer, I’ve had plenty apart for rebuilding and never needed the spanner.

Re: Gearbox spanner wrench
I'm aware there millions of ways to tighten and loosen it just figured someone has had to use the correct tool, I'm just going to use 3 bolts and 2 pieces of steel swiveled with one bolt

Re: Gearbox spanner wrench
Regardless of what to you use to get the front nut loose, make sure you take the jamb nut loose first. That inner nut that takes the spanner won’t budge if the outer jamb is tight.
