Overdrive question

Many years ago my father had a 57 chev 1/2 ton with a 3 speed and overdrive. My question is did the later trucks 60-66 offer the same option? And what about GMC did they ever offer an overdrive?

Re: Overdrive question

There are a bunch of threads about 3 speed overdrive transmissions. I just searched overdrive in the box at the top right corner of the screen. Here are some threads that seem relevant...

Thanks rpmerf I read the threads, so yeah I guess they were available on the later trucks, still not sure about GMC though. My dad also had a 55 chev passenger car with 3 speed plus overdrive, the were kind of fun to drive.
