Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
I know I'm not the only one dissatisfied with Precision's outer window sweeps and the way the rubber is both up and down across the glass.
Has anyone installed these? A little pricey but they look nice. https://www.fatfendergarage.com/prod...ndow-seal-kit/

Re: Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
I'm interested in them but the video isn't much they never show them installing it and I'm not sure I want glue on. Let us know how they work though. I looking forward to it. Thanks.

Re: Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
Yeah, they may be the best seals on the market, but I don't like the glue-on part. Kills it for me

Re: Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
I got around to installing them this weekend. They are a Precision part and they are definitely much higher quality than the factory replacements. I trimmed it to length cut a notch in the front end for the vent window frame. The instructions note that the glue will set in about 1 minute and to have a couple people hold it during that time. It was a little cold in the shop so it was taking longer to set so we put some tubing in the channel to keep pressure on the glued surfaces and they seem to be pretty well stuck. I'm happy with them - the edge stays up across the glass and looks great. Time will tell if the glue holds!

Re: Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
Looks a lot better than the so called factory replacements everyone else sells. The profile looks really similar to the generic ones Im going to try and retrofit.
Im curious was there any clue as to what kind of glue it was? |

Re: Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
I think it's just super glue. It came in a little white bottle and was clear and the consistency of super glue.

Re: Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
Potter. Are you still happy with these? I'm thinking about ordering them as the LMC ones I purchased are a no-go.

Re: Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
I bought the inner/outer set and just used the inner felt. They were fine for what their purpose is.

Re: Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
My window sash hangs on them and won't go all the way up. I will go with these on the outers and see if that will work, but I think it will continue to hang on the inner as well. I'm worried about that glue holding up

Re: Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
Weird. What I would recommend is when you glue them in that you stick something like a small piece of hose between the sweep and the glass so that it keeps pressure on it for a day while the glue sets. Make sure you're putting pressure on the gluing surface, not the wiper portion of the sweep itself so the two surfaces are making good contact. I've tried pulling lightly on mine and it seems to be pretty well stuck. If it falls off someday, you just have to reglue it.

Re: Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
How are this holding up? I bought some repops and ended up pulling the clips out of both sides. So looking for a better solution than ordering another set and hoping I can get them on this time. lol

Re: Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
No problems, still stuck on and holding shape. I'm much happier with these than the OEM style.

Re: Fat Fender Garage Window Sweeps?
Great find! I'm really not a fan of gluing them on, but 2 weeks ago i just went through this with deluxe stainless AND plain black from precision, with unsatisfying results.
I'm not a fan of gluing these in, especially with super glue that leaves a white haze that is nearly impossible to get off easily, subjected to UV and a metal panel that goes through hot and cold cycles. Chances are when or if it popped, it's taking some paint with it... and only the body prep work can tell how much paint is coming with it. |

Maybe 3M plastic emblem and trim adhesive would be better
