Fuel filler neck supply / relocated tank
I needed a short section of 1 1/2" fuel line and all the local places it was available had a minimum purchase of at least 1' . The online stores had crazy shipping rates so I kept searching and found filler neck supply . These guys shipped me a 6" section of hose for $8.35 That's cheaper than I can drive across town and they have multiple fuel line sections and options for custom fuel filler applications guys are using on our trucks . Check them out .

Grumpy, your a leader in our love for these vehicles. Sadly they say in the Restoration World that many are not looking for this career field and we are loosing the art. There are efforts by RPM motorsports to provide funding to get people involved.
I have found the same type of behavior in most all the FLAPS. (friendly local auto parts stores) Thank you for want you do. It helps tremendously to find this kind of support here. |

Re: Fuel filler neck supply / relocated tank
Thanks but all I'm doing is passing along info I found useful to me to save the next guy the time searching for answers or parts , This didn't used to be a hobby for me like it is now , I've been turning wrenches and sitting behind a sewing machine my whole life building projects for other guys from golf cart seats to private jets , So if someone can use the info great . As far as I know there are no tech schools teaching guys how to build the old stuff , Back in the day we had a news paper classified and the yellow pages using a desk phone with a 3 foot cord to find parts and to get the old guys to teach you anything you would have to sweep their shop or spend a few days hand sanding their project car , The young guys today could really clean up $ by taking up one of the classic trades that are falling off the horizon as us "old guys" retire ,Not everyone has the resources or opportunity to go to college and climb that corporate ladder there are tech schools out there .

Re: Fuel filler neck supply / relocated tank
I used Filler Neck Supply too. I got lucky on the hose measurement for my relocated fuel tank.
1-1/4" ID FlexTral fuel hose, 40", PN PE10125 1/2" ID fuel vent hose, 40", PN 20719 T-bolt SS clamp for 1-1/4" hose, PN 32750 Filler neck, 49-55 Chevy truck I hope no one minds the posted pics. Rather than have a fuel filler in the bed, I extended the filler through the bedside as GM did on the '70 auxiliary tanks with a GM inner bed cover (RPO N18). I used some split 3/8" fuel line as a grommet around the holes in the bedside and bed floor to prevent any contact between the filler & vent lines and the bed. The original bed floor and wheel houses where shot, so those were replaced from a decent '72 donor bed. My brother sprayed some 503 light green to blend it into the original paint. The bedside filler neck is definitely convenient for fueling up.

I used Filler neck supply for the tank fuel and vent hoses on my flat bed. They sell good stuff.

Re: Fuel filler neck supply / relocated tank
When I read about a tip for parts I always right them down. I am now on the back side of a legal (yellow) pad.

Re: Fuel filler neck supply / relocated tank
Buy another pad , There still are deals out there it just takes time to find them . Not everything has to come from a 67-72 specialty shop.
