Question Chevy VS GMC manual's

I was looking at some AC wiring stuff for another member to try and help him out on his question about the fan switch and noticed that the Chevy & GMC don't match up.

Chevy has the anti dieseling relay and the GMC does not. So what makes the GMC not have to have it you wreckin'?

Top picture is out of the 71 Chevy Manual.

The other 2 are the GMC manual.

I also found this about the brake pedal in the GMC manual but it's not in the Chevy manual. This was a hot topic several months ago how to set your brake pedal. I always had mine resting on the rubber stops.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Chevy VS GMC manual's

What years? Both the same? The earlier years like my '69 didn't have the anti dieseling feature. Mine's an early '69 3/4 ton with A/C. Not sure when the change was made or the year.

The Chevy manual is for 71 but my 69 manual has it like the GMC, I didn't notice that this morning! The GMC doesn't have a year to it, just 1500 to 3500 series.

So I guess it was part of the smog stuff maybe.

I believe it was smog related as you suggest.

Re: Chevy VS GMC manual's

No expert here but my 70 GMC compressor has a diode at the compressor plug between the 14 DG and the black 14 DG that is supposed to prevent ignition spike or dieseling from the compressor clutch coil.

Mine also has the diode. I don't think I've ever seen one without.
