Dash Bezels With No Holes

Anybody know if/where I could get a dash bezel without any holes? I'd like to layout the holes and cut them myself.

I actually work at a commercial construction company and had a sheet metal foreman make me a bezel out of stainless steel but he wasn't able to get the edges rolled so it won't mount correctly.

Any help is appreciated!

I've seen pictures where some people use a glove box door. Since it is made of metal, you could patch the latch button hole.

Maybe make one from wood. I've seen some really nice examples made that way. Walnut and oak, as I recall.

Re: Dash Bezels With No Holes

I used auto meter gauges for my LS swap and made an "insert" that fit inside the raised part of the stock bezel. Made it out of thin sheet metal like 22 gauge. Once I had the out side radius fitting well. I cut the holes for the 5" and 2" gauges. So after doing that I painted with spray bomb bed liner to get the texured finish. Then I epoxied the sheet metal to the stock bezel. Pic isn't the best but you get the idea.

You did a nice job on that!

Glove box door modified. 93 Caprice gauges, and some after market. Not as clean as LS short box.

Ahh that’s smart, this might be something I’ll try this weekend. Luckily I have 2 templates out of sheet metal that I could toy around with.

Did the outer portion of the plastic bezel have some kind of lip that the sheet metal rested in/on?

Re: Dash Bezels With No Holes

Just a couple other things I did with the bezel. The screw holes that hold the bezel to the dash I wasn't in love with so I tapped the screw holes for 10-24 socket head bolts. Then used some plastic filler from the local body shop to fill the holes on top of the original screw holes. Sanded it to match the original bezel contour. Bolts are long enough to attach nuts from the inside side of the dash. The center gauge is from a "gutted" 2" gauge for turn signals, high beams and check engine light. I used small LED's.

I think I saw one recently, but do not recall where.
Maybe Speedway Motors?
