how haed is it to swap in some outed door handles from a mid to late 90`s gm truck? i`m thinking about doing this to the 70 swb i just got. thanks

I'm not sure how hard it is, but anything's possible. A guy I know grafted a set of 2002 Buick Century handles on '68 doors (they are recessed, it looks nice).

It looks pretty good - the up side of this swap is you get to keep a door handle and you get the benifit of the "flush" look with out the using the oringinal "refridgerator door" ones. I think there was an article on this swap in sport truck awhle back.

Smooth68 is correct on the upside.....but.....BUT .... how many late model trucks have you heard were stolen by someone simply wedging a screwdriver behind the handle, popping it out, & the truck is gone.... or not gone but damaged.

Alot of work to go through only to have some bottom feeder take it or just screw it up.

not only are they easy to break into, but the flat out break quite often.
We have 3 companies with GM fleets...we go through quite a few handles. Always have 4 drivers side on hand at any given time.

i saw that article. they used corvette handles and put them in a late model truck. looked nice!
