1971 ho72

Complete with drums, E-brake cables, 1971 HO72 pulled from a 1971 K20.
-open diff
-4:11's gears I pulled the cover and they are really clean. I can pull the cover again and take pictures if needed
-Will need a new rear cover as the yard poked a hole in it to drain the gear lube for processing

$150 picked up in Dacano, Colorado (wheels not included)

I’ll do the $150 if you’re willing to ship just the center section, then you could still sale the 9/16” 71-72 hubs and make even more money.

Re: 1971 ho72

Additional thought, if you’re not willing to deal with shipping something that heavy. And if it has a locker, I’m willing to pay asking price just for the guts and you could still sell what’s left for your asking price

I figured the center was what somebody would be after if they had 4:56's and wanted a taller gear.

It definitely is an open differential and not a locker. How about if this doesn't sell locally in a couple weeks we could look into shipping after the holidays.

Well I guess in line then if it doesn’t sell locally. Honestly I need it as a backup, I figure it’s only a matter of time before I destroy mine that I’m currently running.

Re: 1971 ho72

$100 takes this home with them. Madkidd I'd pull the guts and ship for the $100 + shipping if you aren't in a hurry. I would guess it would be around $100 to ship but I've been wrong before

Sounds good to me, last time I shipped an entire 3rd member it was $70 but that has been a while. Best way I found was put it in two bags, then a box, and hit it with some spray foam to keep it in place in the box. Depending on the weight I’d also pay you for your time and Ofcourse shipping, to ship the drums seperate. I have a drum I can weigh myself. But to the point I can do the third member for what you want and go from there.
I do have a third member I can weigh if you don’t have a scale.

Sounds like a plan. The spray foam is a great idea. I'll get it pulled, boxed and weighed hopefully within a week. Funny how we just bought a shipping scale at the shop last weekend. Shoot over you shipping address and we'll go from there

Re: 1971 ho72

If the hubs are the 9/16” stud size, I would be interested in both hubs, shipped to 92071. Can you get me a total price, including shipping?

Anyone know if the hubs will fit in a USPS flat rate box?

Thanks,
Miles

I'll check and see what size studs they are. Just as you responded I was posting in another thread and my usps/hub experience
https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...=816104&page=3
I am going to pull the the drums and hubs so if they fit in a flat rate and you're willing to roll the dice we can go that route or I can get a qoute from FedEx. I'd sell the pair of hubs for $50 plus shipping

Well I guess this means I’m not getting the drums then? Being the drums and hubs are assembled together?

I’m 100% on the third member even with shipping. On the drums/hubs would you like me to weigh one of mine or do you have a scale?

Is there anything else you need from this? After pulling it apart looks like it had a brake/wheel bearing job recently in its life. It's going to take me some time to get the third member boxed up and weighed. I do have a scale but can't get back to working on this until next weekend. If you want to weigh your hub/drum in the mean time it may give us a better idea on what it will cost to ship those.

Madkidd,

Sorry, I thought you only wanted the drums.

Curt,

I'll pass on the hubs. I'll just drill my early hubs to accommodate 9/16" studs.

Thanks,
Miles

Re: 1971 ho72

It’s all good, I just never think about specifying both since they are held together.

48 lbs each. So shipping individually would be more price effective and at your convenience as they’re for the crew cab that’s on hold. Not worried about the backing plates or shoes, but the actual hardware for the shoes and hubs would be nice Incase I can’t find mine

Good news. I found my 71-72 hubs so if you want them still I’ll give an official pass on the hubs and studs, still want the drums though
