Frame shortening

So I’m in the middle of shortening my frame. Have it cut and welded inside and out. Would you recommend a fish plate on the inside or boxing it? Or both?

Not sure why the pic is sideways but...

I would plate it on the inside with a long diamond shaped plate. Boxing isn't really recommended because of frame flex.

Looks great,what size of welder did you use? I am going to do the same thing as soon as I can get down to SC to get my frames and trucks,Damn Covid!!!

Well my better safe than sorry got the best of me and I did a fish plate on the inside before I boxed it. Thanks for your input. Did it with my Miller 180
