Cast Headers
I have a new set of Langston cast iron headers I'm going to install on my 292. I'm thinking I would like to have them powder coated. If I do this will this last or will it slowly burn off? I'm sure a few have probably done this so I'n just looking for any advise. Also does anyone have a ball park figure on approximately how much this should cost to have done? Never had anything powder coated so this is a new experience.

Re: Cast Headers
If you're going to have them coated, get them ceramic coated.

Regular powdercoat will burn off exhaust manifolds or headers. A good ceramic powder coat (Cerakote, Jet Hot) will not. I had a local company Cerakote my headers, downpipe and turbo for my street/strip car. Has held tough and keeps the underhood temps down. |
