Does the rear wiring harness unplug?
In the near future, I’m going to be unbolting, and lifting the bed off my truck.
I’m doing this so that I can paint the back of the cab and front of the box. My question is: Is there a way to unplug the rear portion of the wiring harness, or another way to disconnect it without cutting the wires? I really don’t want to cut the wires, only to have to splice them back together. I hope the Factory Surely made a provision for disconnecting them. |

Re: Does the rear wiring harness unplug?
Yep the harness that runs front to rear on the frame rail unplugs at the firewall and at the very rear most crossmember in the frame.

Yep, like 57 said. Drivers side rear frame rail. The "T" in my pic is the trailer light plug in.

Re: Does the rear wiring harness unplug?
Great! Thanks so much.
I’m getting my shop installed next month, and then finally dive into finishing my truck. I’ve had all the parts for a while now, picking them up as I see them, and have Three truck boxes full. I also cut and milled the new wood for the bed, and it’s in the garage too. I’m like a kid waiting for the snow to melt |

Re: Does the rear wiring harness unplug?
There are several adapters available from different sources.
