help plz !!
I replaced the plugs and wires a few weeks ago and the truck was running so good I could not believe it. But now the engine is acting weird. When I give it gas @ idle it kinda spudders as it builds rpm's. I did not have the spark gap tool so I set them according to the old plugs. It was running great when I put the new plugs in... My bud said to check the timing. I do not have a timing light. I know you can set the timing by turning the distributer liek 5 degress. Plz help I need to leave to go upto the mountians in a 2 days. if there is anyone in Oroville or coming to oroville tomorrow and willing to give a young'n some help with his truck I woudl apperite it very much.
Thanks Rich

Loose wire would be my guess as the culprit indeed. Wouldn't hurt to pull out the plugs and check there condition as well. You said you replaced the plugs not to long ago, what kind of condition were they in and do you know how long they were in there? You might have stumbled upon a bigger problem than a loose plug wire if so.

I'll grasp at one... Are you sure all of the wires are run correctly? Mine did something similar, but mine was the timing plus two wires were crossed. Does it back-fire?

no back fire. When I did the plugs and wires, I pulled 1 plug and 1 wire at a time. replaced both and moved to next plug and wire. And when it is shutdown it does not disel at all.

Broken_down?
Maybe one of the plug wires came in contact with the exhaust manifold and burned.

Recheck your wires for burns as stated above, also for any being loose, or loose plugs, also check your fuel filter!!

one of my wires touched the header and melted the boot and caused the problem you are having.
