power door lock
ok, im trying to figure out a power door lok for my AD. As you know the door locks on these trucks leave something to be desired. Ive found kits that work on the door inkage but that doesnt seem safe to me.
What I'm thinking is some kind of solenoid with a pin that I can mount in the lower corner of the door and drill a hole into the door post. It would need to work with a remote and with a switch inside. Any one got any ideas?? thanks.

Re: power door lock
Suicide door safety latches is what you want to look for.
Something like these http://www.carolinacustom.com/pages/..._kits_page.jsp They have the manual ones for a suicide door safety latch for when you are driving and the electric ones below them.

Re: power door lock
The manual one pretty much is.
My wife still carries some scars on her face and knees from falling out of the 48 in Dec 1978. I don't trust the stock door latches at all.

Re: power door lock
My outside door handles are shaved. I used a couple of actuators hooked up to my bear claw latches, then used a remote door opener.
