C30s

So, are the C30s going up in value like the 10s and 20s? I’m In the hunt for a one ton square body. Have I missed the boat of sane prices?

Re: C30s

ive seen some priced reasonable ,and ive also seen some priced extreme
when i bought mine i thought it was at the upper end of value..
but it only had 21,200 miles on it and was stored inside all its life..(x-firetruck)
i gave 3500 for it.. ive turned down 15k since ive done all the work on it..

Re: C30s

I would love to have a 1 ton dually crew. Been looking for quite a while. Every one I see, the previous owner has lowered it and ruined it

Ouch.

Not all lowered CC dually's are ruined.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Well... Mine seems to still do everything I used it for before it was ruined so there's that.

It's all good. I can't stand trucks jacked up so high they're 'ruined'. I don't mind useable lifted trucks that actually leave concrete/asphalt (parking in the grass/on a curb @ a local show doesn't count).

I think the C30’s are still priced fairly reasonable, now the K30’s ? They have gone up in price quite a bit, just my opinion.

That's true also. I had a customer come into the shop about 15 years ago and wanted a 6'' lift on his 4x work truck. I tried to talk him out of it. We did the lift, put the 37'' tires on it...etc. He came back about a month later all ticked off because he couldn't haul the same amount of weight he used to and when he towed anything it was all squirrly on the road. (He was a tile guy) I won't even mention how high the tail gate was. We had some words back and forth with me constantly reminding him that I tried to talk him out of it. I think he traded the truck in, because he never came back.

So with that being said----more often than not you're better off leaving things along and just having a clean looking stock truck. I don't know anybody that doesn't have an eye for or appreciate that was the way the General designed it in the first place

And I'm one of them that appreciates what the General distributed to us. They were great blank canvases that could easily be tweaked to suit each individuals tastes/likes.

I've never had a vehicle I didn't change things on. Not a single one (>20 vehicles). Most were GM, but I tweaked them all.
