bear claw door latches
hi everyone i have a set of bear claw door latches on my 55 chevy truck and was wondering if anyone ever had problem with them not holding? the door will shut fine but will pop open going down the road . i have tried moving the pin up down in out but no difference. they are controlled by an electric solenoid and no it is not the solenoid activating them. Thanks for any input

Re: bear claw door latches
Maybe take out the post, attach it to just some plate steel, and see if you can latch it and pull it out. If you can, the latch is faulty/installed incorrectly. If you can't pop it open, its an alignment issue when installed. This will at least point you towards where you should direct more of your energy.

Re: bear claw door latches
thanks Daveshilling i just did a bit of testing on it and used the male end in the latch and pushed it close. I then gave it a hard pull and it popped open. I think these are both faulty. Have two new ones on order. Hope that will fix the problem
