Bolts for Front Fender

I'm looking for ideas on the flange bolts that are used all over the front end on C10's. I can get "oversize" flange bolts from the Bolt Depot that are similar to the original bolts, but like the originals, they are serrated on the bolt face. I don't like the serrations because they cut into the paint, leaving bare metal underneath.

The only alternative is to use regular bolts, a flat washer, and a lock washer. A little cumbersome, but would be nicer to the paint.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Cris

Why not put a washer under the ones you found? A little blue loctite and life is good.

Re: Bolts for Front Fender

Rocknrod, thanks, that option is on my radar. Are you aware of anyone who makes the large flange bolts in stainless? My searches have come up empty.

I should have added, I don't need a stock look. The one thing I do like about the serrated bolts is they have a simple lock. No need for a separate lock washer.

Thanks, Cris

You can't use the bolts sold by every Chevy truck catalog company out there?

61Hawk

I have not found an aftermarket "Chevy Truck" supplier that has the correct large flange fender bolts. From what I can tell they are a standard flange bolt. I'd also really prefer stainless.

This is what I use, not for the purist, but doesn’t harm the paint, forget the ford name, its only a bolt, paint them or just polish them…..the cadmium plated ones….

Here's the cheapest I've found. Still a little pricey. Some of the Ford parts suppliers have them as well:

I get the ones I listed from the same company, a little cheaper, but I haven’t checked prices lately….

Re: Bolts for Front Fender

Val:

That's a standard size flange bolt. Our trucks use a large flange bolt. The difference in the flange diameter is roughly .688" for the standard flange and .813" for the large flange.

The large flange bolt is not very common.
