adjusting brake lights

is there a way to adjust your brake lights to come on quicker?....it seems you have to push my pedal real far down to get the brake lights to come on

Brake light switch is under dash at brake petal lever. Disconnect the wires and adjust it toward lever. Do not adjust to far as they will stay on all the time.
