64 C10/ GTO oil pan ?
I'm putting an 04 GTO engine and trans into my 64 Suburban.
Anyone else done this? I'm want to know if the GTO front sump oil pan will fit.

Re: 64 C10/ GTO oil pan ?
I am not sure what the Suburban front suspension and frame look like, but if it is anything like my 68 C10, there is no way any front sump engine will fit without changing the pan and pick-up to a rear sump.
I would guess you probably need to look at a Holley pan or maybe an F-body pan to make it work. |

Re: 64 C10/ GTO oil pan ?
I would get the "hot rod" or holley rear sump pan kit with dipstick and windage tray, pickup etc.
There is a plug in the block on the 04 GTO engine, you knock that out and can stick regular dipstick in there. After removing the GTO pan, windage tray, and pickup....you can sell it for more than the new parts you purchased...they are in demand and not available new.

Since the 64 suburban will be lower than my truck, I think the F body pan will be the way to go. I wasn't able to get much money out of my last GTO oil pan. So it's good to know there is a demand now.

Re: 64 C10/ GTO oil pan ?
I have the hummer LH8 (same as hot rod) pan on my 71, lowered 2.5/4
it has great clearance..FYI. if you are going lower than that F body would be great I wouldn't sell a GTO pan for less than $250, seen them go for more. Nissan Z swap guys buy them up

Re: 64 C10/ GTO oil pan ?
I'm planning a 5/7 drop on the Suburban. If I can get it out of my driveway that low. So I think the F body pan will be the one.
