Ididit floor shift tilt column install
Has anyone installed this unit in their truck - https://www.ididitinc.com/i-25047966...651020%26go%3Dhttps://www.ididitinc.com/i-25047966...651020%26go%3D
How difficult of an install? Were you able to get the flashers, turn signals, and horn to work properly? Will this column support the use of a stock Chevy steering column?

Re: Ididit floor shift tilt column install
I have installed a very similar Ididit column in my 53 Suburban with a floor shifter. It was not a retro fit column per say just a 32" (I think).
It hooked up to my American Autowire wiring harness and there were no issues with lights or horn working as they should. Ididit has a great tech section on their web site if you run into any snags. Marc

Re: Ididit floor shift tilt column install
The Ididit columns have the standard flat GM turn signal plug that most wiring kits come with or are color coded for. At worst you have to buy the pigtail that plugs into it and wire it accordingly.
As for hooking up to the steering shaft and or gear box that depends on what steering shaft/gear box you have and right off I don't remember what you have. Normally those are used to connect to the steering shaft from the Rack on a MII front end, the box on an S-10 frame or the outside mounted box on the stock frame. If you are running a cut off steering shaft on a stock box you have to figure out how to connect a coupler to that steering shaft. That's either cut flats for a Double D connection or figure out another safe secure connection.

Re: Ididit floor shift tilt column install
The only pictures I see of your truck is with stock steering box
No column will work with the stock steering box

Re: Ididit floor shift tilt column install
If you're set on using the stock steering box with the Ididit column you cold probably cut the steering tube in the engine bay to expose the steering shaft and grind a double-D profile into the shaft
Here's a site where they've done this- https://www.trifive.com/threads/usin...-shaft.229130/ After you're done you're still going to have the problem of an exposed bearing on the modified stock box. You could probably use a 'column saver' to close it out. Here's one from Classic Industries https://www.summitracing.com/parts/clp-cp175bcs |

Your truck will need a mustll or clip to install that
