Difference in frame

Morning guys.
So i purchased a 61 gmc carryal. But the funny thing is that it has 63 trim. The heater plate is the 63-66 smaller size. So I'm trying find out if the frame is correct since it didn't have torsion bars as well. How do measure to find out what year frame is it. I'm getting ready to purchase a dropped front end and want to make sure I get the correct reason ear

Re: Difference in frame

Between the drivers side motor mount and steering box, on top of the frame. What are the stamped number/letters?

Re: Difference in frame

Yes, check for the VIN stamp on the frame and see if it matches the VIN for the body and the Title.

I believe you are correct.
My gmc frame hasn't any VIN, and I recently looked at a 66 gmc and it didn't have a VIN on the frame either.

So, if you are trying to figure out if your frame is a 60-62, it will be an x-frame. If it's a ladder frame, it could be a 63-66.

That's a good question.
I'm not positive.
I guess I just figured so, but maybe not.
Hopefully someone with more knowledge knows.
