1946 GMC 1 ton engine?
Came out of my dads 47 gmc(46 body style). Definitely specific to GmC as even the intake manifold has GMC embossed. We actually fired it up and drove it around the yard before pulling it so can guarantee no knocks or dead holes, but aside from that internal condition unknown. Correct GmC valve cover, glass fuel filter, and oil bath air cleaner.
Also have all 6 original wheels, not split ring but definitely a 2 piece rim. What you guys think this stuff is worth so we can post it up for sale?

The wheels and the truck it all came from.
Also I forgot the engine is setup with a pump for the dump bed, as you can see everything was working when removed.

Re: 1946 GMC 1 ton engine?
Any opinions? I know it’s a lil on the rare side but maybe not so desirable to most since it’s GmC specific

That sure was a cool truck as it was. That should be a 270, the last GMC-only I6, '41-'63. It's a torquey little motor motor with 4" stroke. Not sure of value. My guess is as much as any complete running old motor, $300-$500. I'd look at marketing to ATHS and ATCA members. That's American Truck Historical Society and Antique Truck Club of America. They both have magazines (Wheels Of Time & Double Clutch) as well as website with forums and classified ads free to members. You could see about a local chapter. Might be one nearby. Those have meetings and you could put the word out there.

Re: 1946 GMC 1 ton engine?
Well technically it’s a 47 but we say 46 because of the body style

Re: 1946 GMC 1 ton engine?
I always knew this body to be 41-47 and the Advance Designs to be '48-'54 through the years. That was the common knowledge until we started getting into the nitty gritty on these forums. My local old truck friend of decades, who doesn't do computers, restored a beautiful black '47 2nd Design. He called it a '48
