In Cab Tank Brackets

I have relocated the tank in my 60 and want to remove the mounting brackets in the cab. I removed the bolts but they won't budge. Are they welded in? If so I will leave them since the inside of the cab is painted.

I cut mine back, but left the meat of the brackets in, because they look like they help hold the back of the truck together. I believe they are welded in.

I left mine just like that too. Figured it stiffens up the cab rear panel. I put FatMat over it and have the carpeted rear panel that will be put in to hide the vertical section.

They are spot welded to the back of the cab. I took mine out. Haven’t noticed any adverse effects.

I plan to leave mine in and bend up the front "tang" to provide a mounting point for the bottom of a piece of MDX that I will use to fill the void where the tank once went. Figuring I will use it for speakers and secured storage (i.e., a lock box). As others have said, it is spot welded in; so you would need to drill out the spot welds to remove it.
