60-61 2 speed wiper motor
Has anyone replaced their single speed wiper motor on their 60-61 Chevy truck with a 2 speed motor? If so what motors will bolt in? Not looking to spend $300 on a new one. Any help is greatly appreciated thank you.

Re: 60-61 2 speed wiper motor
I'm not trying to be a smart ass here, but my '66 had two speed wipers and they were still pretty lame. I find RainX to be the hot ticket in wet weather and it makes even the slow speed adequate for all but the heavy downpours. Since you're working on a budget, I just thought I'd throw that out there. And welcome to the forum. I see this is your first post. I hope you'll stick around.

Re: 60-61 2 speed wiper motor
Apart from finding a factory 2 speed motor and switch and wiring it up, there is another way to improve the performance of your existing wipers on the cheap.
The original arms themselves are known to be a weakness especially as they age and the springs lose their tension. (Re-pops aren't much better) but....I remember reading a thread where guys were using the rear window wiper from a...Wagoneer or something? And getting good results. It will take a bit of searching but maybe I can dig it up |

Yes I was planning on using those wiper arms. Currently I don't have a wiper motor or arms, it didn't come with one. I was able to get some decent linkage but still need a motor.

Re: 60-61 2 speed wiper motor
I don't think there's a 2 speed motor available for a 60-61 and nothing else bolts right into place other than New Port Engineering's version. Aspen Auto had an OEM motor in stock not too long ago. Maybe worth checking into and perhaps rebuilding if needed. Other than that, AcampoDave is exactly right about the RainX, it does the job and has been for years. I have plans on getting the New Port Engineering set up at some point though.
