Rear seat belt placement
I have an early 72 Blazer and the back seat has four legs. All the belts are gone, but it looks like the seat belts with the buckle bolts onto the center two legs. On the far left and right side, the belts have been cut off, but I'm guessing this is where the non-buckle part of the belts are supposed to be? How do those attach to the seat? It looks like they go into the fold of the upholstery instead of bolting to legs like the buckles do. I hope my description makes sense, thanks!

Re: Rear seat belt placement
The belts for the rear seats with four rear support brackets all bolt to the brackets. When the style changed to a two outer bracket only arrangement those belts that made use of the two inner brackets were then affixed directly to the floor pan. Does this thread help?: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ight=Rear+seat

Re: Rear seat belt placement
I see where the belts would attach on the center two legs. But the far left and right belts (that slide into buckle) aren't attached to the outer legs. What's left of those belts go into a fold of the upholstery on the side. I grabbed a picture from your other thread, they look like this picture below. Are they bolted to the seat frame?

Re: Rear seat belt placement
Okay, at least that sounds like what I'm seeing..., definitely looks like I'll have to remove part of the seat cover to get to the outer ones. Are they bolted to the internal seat frame?

Re: Rear seat belt placement
Now, here's the real question lol, since my outer ones were cut off with scissors, any chance you have some of those in parchment? Thanks for the help!

Re: Rear seat belt placement
Wow. I should look closer. Always thought these were bolted to the brackets in a way that allowed easier access. I guess I never looked that close at those in a 71 I used to own. Wonder if Suburban seats were similar?

Re: Rear seat belt placement
Not sure, if you look at the assembly manual it also shows bolting to the side as an option.

Re: Rear seat belt placement
Maybe a dedicated seat belt thread that runs down the model year differences would be useful.

Re: Rear seat belt placement
Was your early 72 equipped with lower molding and if so did it receive the bright molding piece across the bottom of the tailgate? This molding was added for 72 but I believe some early examples weren't so equipped.

Re: Rear seat belt placement
It does have lower molding, and looks like the tailgate had it too, but it's missing now.
