Good place to buy rims

What is a good place to buy rims? Looking for some new ones for my 68 swb fleet side.

Thanks!

Ive had good luck buying through Discount Tire . They will price match or undercut someone elses price if you purchase through them .

Re: Good place to buy rims

If you buy Cragars from Summit, make sure you inspect and test them for out of roundness ASAP. Took 8 boxes from Summit to get me 4 straight, no curbed damaged rims....Damn Shame. One of the boxes that was labeled 5x5, 3.-- Center Bore had a 5x5.5 with a huge center bore (most likely Ford Pattern) wheel packed in it. Summit had to deal with the returns and even overnighted a rim. I would go local just so if there is problems with the stuff, they can get it fixed in person. I went to a tire shop on the last rim I got that was warped and they wrote up a work order saying they would not use the rim because of how much it was out of round. Quality control is a lost art....

Re: Good place to buy rims

Years ago I found the same problem with Cragar wheels. The tire shop I've used for many years always spins the wheels on their balancer first before mounting tires. Stock and aftermarket. He said it has saved so many come backs over the years he couldn't begin to count. Both tires and wheels once you mount the tires you own them.

Re: Good place to buy rims

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I have been shopping around online and have found these. https://www.wheelvintiques.com/all-w...ye-silver.html

Looking at the 15x7. I dont know what stock backspacing is for the C10s. I currently have drums on all 4 corners but the plan is to install discs up front. Can anyone tell me what backspacing what work for front disc and rear drum?

Thanks!

Re: Good place to buy rims

if your buying Wheel vintiques buy them from Summit for the fast free shipping , But call them and make sure they have them in stock before ordering . Wheel vintiques has many wheels and center caps on extended back order . The chrome rallye wheels have been on backorder for 12 months already and expected delivery is now April . I waited 9 months for 1 wheel and finally found 1 at Coker tire .

Thanks Grumpy! I found them. https://www.summitracing.com/search/...el%20vintiques

Do you know what the backspacing would be for 15x7 with disc in front and drum in back? Im all drums right now but will be converting soon.

Thanks

Re: Good place to buy rims

I did wheelsforless.com for my US mags. It was a package deal with the tires installed and balanced. They have a bunch of different packages specifically for our C10s. At the time, no one else (even summit and Jegs with their discount) could even touch the price for the tires (Nitto g2s) and rims (ramblers) and that wasn’t even including the money it would have taken to get them balanced locally. I think there may not even be taxes if you’re out of state too.
