Anyone running silver colored spindles?

Sorry for the dumb question, but is anyone running silver colored spindles with black control arms? Painted my new drop spindles silver and am now second guessing myself that I should have painted them black, just like the arms. Was thinking the contrast whould look good. Anyone have a picture with this set up?

I painted mine silver , The CPP parts and the Moog suspension parts all come raw steel , If you don't paint them they'll rust pretty quick . Once it's all installed you would have to be looking pretty hard to notice , The rotors where painted with VHT high heat paint , I just think it's a cleaner look .

Like they say only your hairdresser will know" about hair dye, only your front end alignment guy will know. I go all black with the undercarriage. On 4wds you see it better and I prefer the focus concentrated on the body above. I always paint my shocks with black bedliner coating so they'll just stay black. If I run boots on them I order black

I read this title and wondered if people actually paint spindles??? I certainly hope not. They are all the color of the steel they are machined from. What we are talking about here are steering knuckles, which the spindle is one part of

Thanks Grumpy. Based on those pictures I decided to stick with the silver on the spidles. It looks as good as I thought it would. Ofcourse now you got me thinking about the tie rod ends too. A decision for another day.

I Painted the Moog tie rods , One TIP is to use a 90 degree Zerk grease fitting on the inner tie rods facing out towards the wheel , The straight ones when installed are too close to the crossmember to fit a grease gun onto when you want to lube them .

Anothe tip is when your installing the tie rod into the center link it goes in from the back whith the nuts on the front . It's easy to get the center link in backwards and causing dodgy steering , it happens to a lot of guys and they end up having to swap it around . 3rd tip is when assembling tie rods you can measure the old ones distance zerk to zerk and that distance can be used to get your tie rods close enough to drive to allignment shop . On my 67 it was 18 1/8 " .

Got the spindles and springs installed today. Waiting on the outer tie rods (thought I already had them on hand) and then I will get the steering installed.

Haha! That's how I've always remembered. And I would forget since most of my experience is with 4wds.

I like the look of the natural looking knuckles and steering parts, like spray grey and cast grey that Eastwwod sells, the way parts come before they rust. II also like the custom look of hammered powder coat in a silver grey

My '67 project chassis is all black because I bought the already completed/all rebuilt '71 rolling chassis from Hart Rob, including 4/6 drop from a project he was parting out. I brought my own tire/wheel combo (stock, on it still) to Pensacola, bolted them on, rolled onto a dolly, and hauled back to Maryland. I washed it down really well and shot it with a low gloss black.

I've done a lot of "model car kit style" trucks from the ground up. I'm a stickler for detail. But the vibe on this one, although built from chassis-up from parts, will be "unrestored surviving hot truck from the era" these trucks come from. It may even go with Hot Rod Flatz Red Oxide to look primered over. But the interior and firewall will be fully painted in desired color and finished out to a T inside and under the hood. I may also finish paint the inside of the bed (under the snap on tonneau cover). I want the truck perfect...ly fun to drive the wheels off of! (like back in the era... my era)
