Hagerty vehicle under construction insurance
As the truck keeps getting closer to being finished and the new parts pile continues to climb , It's time to insure it , My concerns are fire and theft so I called Hagerty and placed Comprehensive and Vehicle under construction insurance along with Cherished salvage coverage and $2500.00 on tools . No sense paying for collision when I'm not driving it yet . An Agreed value policy at $35,000.00 will let me sleep better and and I can upgrade with collision and a higher agreed value when it's done .

Re: Hagerty vehicle under construction insurance
Good idea....you might want to get a quote from Grundy to compare cost and coverage when your renewal comes up. I found them to cover more and cost less. Have only had minor claims with them over the last few years and service was excellent.
Not saying anything bad about Haggerty, just when I shopped, Grundy offered more for less. For my 3 hobby cars @ $50, $40 & $40k its under $600 a year, $0 deductible, no milage restriction, towing, lodging if vehicle stolen or wrecked when not home, medical, collision, glass and personal property, etc. Did the whole thing online, never talked with anyone. Did have to send in 2 pics of each vehicle, must be garaged, can't be your DD. Got quote which stated it would take a few weeks for underwriting approval so not to cancel any existing insurance until it was. That took about a week. Have had them for 8 years now. YMMV |

Re: Hagerty vehicle under construction insurance
TIL there's a thing called "Cherished salvage" coverage.
In case I'm not alone: https://www.hagerty.com/insurance/cl...vage-coverage? ....also, thanks for this breakdown, Grumpy Last edited by Rust_never_sleeps; 05-02-2023 at 07:53 PM. Reason: omitted thanks |

Re: Hagerty vehicle under construction insurance
i insured the 68 for 40k with State Farm after Hagerty went from $600.00 a year to $800.00
It is worth a look and the agent has been painless to work with. I think it pays to shop a bit depending on where you live. The agent did not need pics or anything. Hope this helps. |

Rates also vary on home much "agreed value" in the event of theft or damage.
