6.2 diesel in 1973-1980 Chevy

Hey folks, I have a 1983 Chevy blazer with a 6.2 diesel in it. I absolutely detest the 81-91 front ends on squarebodies and want to swap to a 73-80 front clip.

The only thing I'm concerned about is mounting the 6.2 radiator and fan shroud to the 73-80 core support. Has anyone done this? What all did you do? I have a radiator for a big block I could use instead, but they appear to be smaller than the 6.2 radiators. Has anyone used the big block radiator in place of the 6.2 radiator?

78-80 trucks were offered with 5.7 diesel and had the same huge radiator. So maybe you have to find a core support from these year trucks?

I totally agree with your love for the 1973-80 front end design.

IMO it was the height of styling for these Squarebody pickup's. Just like the 1970 Chevelle, the 1957 Bel Air and etc!

The 73-80 trucks with Big Blocks, A/C, and heavy duty cooling had a huge 4 core radiator that approximately the same size as the diesel/454 radiators of the later trucks.
