Re: Power steering pulley and crank pulley information
Thanks for the info, I never seen a cast iron crank pulley before and searched and found the power steering pulley was used on big blocks. I couldn’t hardly make out the crank pulley part number and figured someone here would know what combination it was for.

Re: Power steering pulley and crank pulley information
Cast iron pulley looks like it’s been welded on.
You might want to find another one, just to be safe.

Re: Power steering pulley and crank pulley information
I think that’s dried oil from a past oil leak, I’ll look closer when I get home from work.

Re: Power steering pulley and crank pulley information
I have never seen cast crank pulleys on anything automotive. I would have assumed a marine application. Interesting.

Re: Power steering pulley and crank pulley information
I had a cast pulley like that as part of a aftermarket AC system . It used one of those old York Compressors. The evaporator that hung under the dash was the size of a steamer trunk.

Re: Power steering pulley and crank pulley information
i thought the cast pulley looked funky too but it maybe just old oil, dirt and grease dried up but certainly it wouldn't be wise to use it,if it had been welded on.my big block 72 truck with factory A/C has 2 pulleys on the crank, both steel not cast.i have a couple cast crank pulleys here,i seem to recall they were on 62-64 283's or 327's in fullsize cars?
