Re: Trimming down high hump carpet
Really don’t see how it can be done without a big seam in it . And having an shop do it would most likely be more than a new one

Re: Trimming down high hump carpet
Mark is right, they mold these carpets with adhesive or whatever is on the back to hold the shape.my 72 3/4 ton truck has a high floor and a Turbo 400 and a new ACC high hump carpet.i'm sure before the carpets are molded, just laying there flat,a high hump would have to be more carpet than a low floor.trying to make it conform to a low floor would be like trying to get size 12 foot into a size 8 shoe?rather than have a mess or cut a section out of it,sell it and re-order what you need?

Re: Trimming down high hump carpet
Or - stuff some foam or bedding or something in there to fill the space between the carpet and floor.
Otherwise - no. You can't cut it down. K

Re: Trimming down high hump carpet
I did the same thing, ordered a TH400 high hump carpet and put it in my truck which of course has a TH400 with low hump. I trusted the catalog and was burned. But I like it anyway. I put a 2x12 board on the hump (just set it there), and put the carpet in and now I have a high hump. I kind of like it, it brings my console and cup holder closer and it gave me a convenient place to screw in a fire extinguisher bracket on the passenger side of the hump.

Re: Trimming down high hump carpet
Call Rock Auto and ask if you can exchange it. When I ordered mine about 7 or 8 years ago I noticed the bum information on ACC or Rock Auto's website and ordered the low hump version.
Sounds like the error is still not corrected.

Re: Trimming down high hump carpet
ya, I realized cutting it won't be the best solution. I went through the return process and apparently they can take it back and I can reorder the "3 speed automatic" which should be the low hump based on the pictures. I would just be out of $13 for the pre paid shipping label to send it back. guess that's my route I will go. I packaged it yesterday and will be dropping it off today to send it back. wish I would've tried the block of wood method, might have worked for me! building a console that goes there anyways
