Aaaaargh! Enough cold! Send me warm!
It's 4 below outside and the windchill makes it 25 below zero. Time is running out for me, however, since the truck and I will be heading on a 1,700 mile trip starting next Friday morning. Looks like I get to trudge out in this miserable weather and install my bucket seats, install a new dipstick, replace a valve cover gasket, and generally freeze my butt off.
Sorry... just needed to vent.

son, I just can't tell you how bad I feel for you. I was just thinking of getting the Harley out for a warm-up spin, or maybe playing with my(your)[our?] Nova for a bit. Have you asked some some of this group more used to extreme cold than us just what you need to have with you on your trip?Have a nice day, dad

I am sorry but you can't have any of our precious warm. End
of story. We have some of your cold here now and I am ready to FedEx it back to you, if you will give me your address. If you keep sneaking it in like you are doing, I might have to move further South. Further than twelve miles and I will have to swim. Just kidding, EdB |

I feel your pain, almost. It has been around 10 here with below zero wind chill. I managed to get the 350 in the dump before the cold set in. The problem now is I have to re-build the 305 in a 30x32 uninsulated barn with only a little kerosene space heater. I only last about two hours before I have to go back in the house to defrost.

This morning it was -34C(not sure what that is in F, but's frickin cold), and almost as cold yesterday morning. It was so cold that when i got in the truck, my usually saggy bench seat hardly even compressed!! (seriously) Truck still started though......just a little slower than usual

I did get the seats in the truck. Man, I really like 'em! I did have to bend the inside front brackets just a hair, but other than that, they fit up like a champ. I know it doesn't make much sense, but it feels like I've got just a bit more room, too. BTW, it's 9 below zero right now. The truck's running good and I'm 95% confident in its ability to make the trip. I've started losing some oil, however, and I can't quite figure out where. The rear main is leaking pretty good and I've got a leak at the front of the driver's side valve cover and the front of the intake manifold. I don't think I'm burning oil (or at least not much), but...

It should warm up soon. We had that same system here for about a week. It finally warmed up to around 35 two or three days ago.
