lowered 86 front tires squeal

I just got done lowering my 86 c10, I took it for a quick drive afterwards to make sure it was good to go. I would get to about 30 mph and the front tires would squeal like the tire was slipping. When I got back home the front tires were hot and I could see where the tread was rubbing against the road.

I put on 2.5" drop spindles, 2" drop springs in the front with all new stock parts such as ball joints and tie rod ends.

Does this sound like an alignment issue or is something else going on?

A drop will affect the alignment . When I dropped my truck and my Chevelle they needed an alignment badly

Need's re-alignment. Take an honest look at the present shim packs. You may need some thick spacer's along w/the normal shims. Massive shim packs can fall apart. Research you area for a really good, experienced shop that has done this kind of work. Newbies may take all day & still not get it right.

Probably alignment as others have stated. Might do a very short drive while staying off the front brakes. Check the rotors for heat on the off chance that something has caused the front brakes to stay applied.

Also check everywhere a tire might rub, just in case.

Re: lowered 86 front tires squeal

Are you certain your drop spindles are correct for your brake rotors? There are two different spindles for regular and HD brakes. Are you sure you set the bearing end play correct, too? Otherwise, I agree that your alignment may be that far out of spec.

Truck looks good by the way.
