New Guy
I just joined a few weeks ago because I struck gold (in My mind anyway) Scored a 1971 K20 350 V8 4-sp stake bed. My Uncle and Aunt purchased it new in Oct. 1970 at Lyons Chevrolet in Boulder CO. It spent most of it's life on a high altitude ranch outside of Hayden CO. It's got a few small holes in the floor but it's good enough to drive around town. The Wife has wanted one of this body style for awhile so once We get all the mouse smell out of it We are gonna get it road worthy and just drive it. Getting new seat , seals , floor mats, shift boots , all the perishable cardboard stuff.

Re: New Guy
Very cool! Welcome to the K20 club. I’m completely biased but I like to think of them as the king of the 67-72’s!

Re: New Guy
So the info sticker in the glove box shows G50 heavy duty rear springs and F60 heavy duty front springs. Is that the standard for a K20?

Welcome! Anything on that sticker is an option, so not standard.

Re: New Guy
Yes, struck gold is right, and welcome to the forum. One of the things that is fun about these trucks is there are parts galore available both new and used for these, and the community here is delightful and full of help/advice. So, if you're wondering about modifying something or getting a part or a doodad for the truck, let us know. More pictures would be welcome, I don't think you're going to wear us out looking at pics and talking about stuff on that truck.

I'll work on pics. We really like the stake bed. For Our hauling needs it's gonna be easier than a standard bed.

Re: New Guy
I have encountered that and fixed it by reducing the picture size to 2000 pixels wide and add the pictures one at a time. You can still compose a post with 5 pictures, but just upload them one at a time.

Attachment 2383604Did I forget to mention the #8000 Ramsey winch powered by a PTO on a homemade bumper? This pic taken in the trucks original CO. home.

Nice! I like the PTO winch and front bumper. Did you take it off to work on the truck?

Re: New Guy
The flatbed driver that shipped the truck had to remove the bumper/winch combo to get it to fit on the trailer. I just put it back on. It's a lot easier to reach stuff in the engine bay when I stand on it.
