Rewiring GM tilt column to flash high beams

I have a 1954 Chevy Pickup on a 1984 GMC sierra classic K10 chassis. It still has the GM tilt column with the full function side stalks and the original multi connector at the end. I need guidance on how to make the high beams flash via the stalk. Is there any easy way to do this?

Re: Rewiring GM tilt column to flash high beams

On my 84 CUCV with a non-tilt column, I went the other way. I wanted the floor switch vs the column stalk. Also, the column switch was no-op. Discovered that the 3 wire connector for the beam switch was the exact same pattern as the floor mount switch. Except for wire length, it would have been as simple as plugging the floor switch in. Don't know if GM was using the 3 wire floor switch in 54 but it might as simple as pulling the floor switch wire over to the base of the column and plugging it in to the existing column switch.

Re: Rewiring GM tilt column to flash high beams

Thanks but all of the 54 body wiring is long gone. I stupidity reused all of the 84 gmc wiring including the fuse box -- big mistake don't do it!!. All i have to work with is the remaining wiring from column and box connected to the original 54 headlight switch. Wonder if theres a wiring diagram that would show how to integrate the column stalk to the switch?????

The 1984 GM Light Truck wiring diagrams in the manual page should be a good place to start.
