Parking Light Fitment

I am in the process of assembling the grille on my 70 C10 and I have a question on the parking lights.
In the attached picture you can see when the housing is lined up with the holes on the grille, the bottom tabs are at least a 1/4" inch away from the grille. The new grille, parking lights and the billet inserts are new.
This alignment doesn't seem right to me. Am I missing something here? Does the grille insert between the parking light and the grille? I have not tried to put the billet inserts in yet.

Thanks

Maybe your original image was already small? I just manually zoomed into it with my viewer and then took a screen print of the bigger image, saved that to a new file and uploaded it normally.

Hth,
