battery drop down box
anyone use one of these have pictures or advice on placement was trying to get as far back as I could under the SWB fleet bed but looks like I might have to go under the cab where the frame is straight ??

I didn't use a drop down but just a fairly standard battery hold down. Pic of my 68 with the battery just back of the cab mounted on the frame rail. I made a couple of 90 degree brackets and bolted them to the frame. Then the battery tray to the brackets.

I've since sold the truck but I believe I went over the frame rail with pos cable to the main stud on the starter. I like using the rubber lined cable clamps to hold the pos cable in place. No pics.
If you decide to go thru the frame rail I wouldn't use a rubber grommet. I would use a thru the frame rail cable isolator. See pics. |
