Grand Theft Auto
I decided to start a build thread on this 1969 SWB step side new addition couldn't help myself was out to dinner with friends one of which owns a repair shop and he has been maintainig my daily drivers for years has a classic car collection also . so we were BSing and I said who owned that step side that was at your shop ,happened to be someone from my town im was familiar with also and then told me its for sale and what the owner wanted .....I said call him I'll buy it tomorrow and I did ....I got under it looked at the usual suspect and wasn't bad at all,, heard it run we haggled a little took him for a ride and came to an agreement lets just say I did very well my friends now SAY and kiddingly say I committed GRAND THEFT AUTO so here we are one of those deals you make maybe once in a century . I didn't get a lot of info from the PO he purchased from so I don't know the history. I went on the BEENVERIFYIED site plugged in the vin and found four hits 2 from Va. and the owner I purchased it from and me so I believe it spent most of its life in Va. Don't waste your money on the Been verified site I really only see that there was 4 DMV actions its only changed hands 4 times in 55 years. So ill dig in and find out with serial #s on the SB block 350 0r 327 not sure yet has hump heads on it points distributor headers NEW exhaust , and a power glide front disc conversion PB PS conversion brand new tires rims bumpers front and back are new, grill looks really nice new fuel tank behind the seat fresh paint wood floor done the rear fenders no marker lights ( I thought no-one repopped 67 step side fenders ? ) not sure what gears are in it did feel a little action going round corners. ill get it up in the air soon to look some more . I took a 20 mile ride yesterday handled fine my plan after my forensic investigation I will add my touch few small things needed I probably have on the shelf and just drive now through the spring and summer like a daily driver and then who knows this is definitely not a project but needs some additional TLC so not a build thread but I can document my investigation and any upgrades ...To be continued ...oh yeah he threw in another set of rims and tires soon to be FS

Re: Grand Theft Auto
Well, now you can really ''drive it like you stole it.''
And how lenient are the NJ State Police about Blue Dots in tail lights?

Re: Grand Theft Auto
Nice! You keep on coming up with cool trucks.
I'm pretty sure Jersey made bluedots legal on vintage vehicles in 2022, but not sure. They are legal on vintage vehicles in most states. Rg

Re: Grand Theft Auto
SEMA has a big lobby group that tries to keep the hotrodding/vintage vehicle market alive and they have been pushing to keep vintage vehicles alive and well.

Re: Grand Theft Auto
and so it begins
cleaned him up today( not sure of its gender yet ) that's me being a wise A$$ wouldn't want to offend anyonetook him out to get me a haircut went buy a friends house got a thumbs up from the Fedex driver passed one of my neighbors was outside said he wanted it I got out and said take it for a ride he got in and couldn't find drive at first.... he did and off he went he loved it I went back out picked dinner up...fun driving love the power glide looked at the SPID took couple pics they are not real clear but will share I crossed out the serial # cuzz im crazy like that not sure why but I am I see a model# not sure what that means have to look it up. So the power glide is original equipment not sure if trans is the original one to the truck.. and don't know if I could find a way to verify that? what I do know the shift indicator is not.(neighbor couldn't find drive) Im going to change that. I ordered the correct PRNDL one from classic industries( picture provided by PJMORELAND his 68 had a PG)...now Im not sure if the column is OE have a look the indicator metal housing is different looking ... I purchased this indicator and metal housing (blue tape is just holding the original screws) years ago from someone on the board for my 72 Cheyenne(sold) and hope I can use it on this truck to late tonight but ill try in the morning I do have the original tilt out of my Cheyenne I could swap in at some point but I d rather do the .... easy TLC fun stuff
