Rear End Cover Gasket Installation?
What is the best way to instill the gasket for the cover on the rear end? Is that little paper gasket the best thing to use? Thanks

Yep the paper diff gasket is the way to go. I think if I remember correctly when I did mine that I put on a little bit of silicone too as well just to hold the gasket in place when i went to bolt it on

most people just use silicon,no gasket.

We use 3 M Super 77 Multipurpose Adhesive spray at the shop. Spray on one side of the gasket, let it tack up, and place it on the diff cover. (or water pump or valve cover...what ever we're workin on) Then just bolt it on.
However, for a diff, we just use The Right Stuff most of the time. |

I use a thin coat of 3M weatherstrip adhesive on the gasket and the cover only. Let it tack-up and stick it, then bolt 'er up. Make sure to straighten the sheet metal cover if it's distorted at the bolt holes.

One thing I've found when people use the silicone or rtv sealer...........they always seem to miss a spot...............now the leaks........
