Gas Pains!
Our gas prices have been mostly steady for a few months now but with the situation in Iran, people are expecting price increases for gas and oil. My usual fuel stops are unchanged from last week @ $2.38 but I did hear yesterday that at least one place 12 miles away jacked their gas price up 40 cents in one day to $2.99.
So, $2.38 here, for now.

Re: Gas Pains!
Can you send some of that 2.38 this way?
We haven't seen that in a LONG TIME. Could be worse though. Smitty

Re: Gas Pains!
Locally our gas went up $0,40 per gallon also yesterday. Doubt that will be the last hike but guess the only thing to do is hold on to your seat for the ride. Just hope the ride isn't too bumpy.

Re: Gas Pains!
Ours went up yesterday from a recent low of $4.40 to $4.50. I would not be surprised to see more increases.

Re: Gas Pains!
I cant even imagine 2.38 a gallon. I seriously dont remember how long ago it was even close to that low ... Years and years. We are in the 4.40 to 4.80 range. We can get it a little cheaper if we have "points" from grocery shopping. We can also get it cheaper if we by at one of the reservations.

Re: Gas Pains!
Gas prices were already 2.98 here and have jumped to 3.15 now and that is for 85 octane, 87 octane is 3.25. I think I waited to long to buy an electric car.

Re: Gas Pains!
85 octane? 87 octane is the lowest available around here. I have never seen anything that recommends 85 octane, so what do you use that in?

I remember seeing some weird gas when I was out in Colorado Springs in 2023, but I don't remember what. Here in Indiana we have 87, 89, sometimes 91, and 93. All ethanol. Some stations have 90 octane ethanol free but its upward of $4-5 a gallon, compared to ~$2.90 for 87 after these most recent price hikes

Re: Gas Pains!
Would you be referencing 57taskforce?? lol I certainly spent some time in the industry and still know it pretty well, although I left and am working in Gas fired electricity generation these days. The prices will likely go up, but it probably won’t be as bad as it could be because we are producing so much more at home than we were 18 months ago. The prices going up right now are mostly going to be stations trying to capitalize on fear. It takes a minute for crude prices to truly cause the market to fluctuate because a lot of but not all oil commodities(especially domestic) are bought from producers at monthly rates rather than daily rates. This was the case for the producer I worked for. Around here the local stations play lots of games with prices. It genuinely pisses me off too. A few weeks ago it was 1.99 at a station along my way to work. The next day it was 2.59. It along with all the other stations in that area jumped 50-60 cents a gallon for absolutely no reason. Other stations a mile or two away were still in the vicinity of 2.20, Exactly where they had been for a week or so before. Currently id say the average is about 2.50 here up, about 30 cents since the weekend. With all that said, once we get past the current events everything should settle back out pretty quickly I would guess.

Re: Gas Pains!
Guess I should be happy $29 for a 5 qt of Mobil1 yesterday for my
semi-annual. We're lucky oil doesn't keep up with inflation, but really sucks we're in this war, doesn't matter pro, con or on the fence. Personally I'm on the fence simply because war sucks and we aren't privy to what led to it anyway. That good or bad isn't for this board, plus Leon will come after your 👍👍

Re: Gas Pains!
Paid 2.80 for premium (91) in my Camaro SS and Yukon Denali yesterday. Regular (86) was 2.50. Some stations around are at 3.09-3.29 for regular, but cheaper gas can still be had. This is in the ABQ metro area. I’ve seen 85 around but never ran it before.
