Ebay???

I was wandering if anyone has sold a truck on ebay. If you did how much trouble was it and did you get what you were asking for?

I've sold a bike and it was very easy and I just bought my truck off of ebay last week, again very easy. Just know how much you want to get before hand and set a reserve.

I sold a Ducati for a friend... it was very easy. Communication is the key.

I sold a 97 Suburban on eBay about two years ago and shipped it to Chicago. The guy that bought it was great to work with, I had payment within 3 days, and he arranged all the shipping. I just drove it down to a tow yard that acted as a holding area until the shipper picked it up. They did a complete inspection and recorded everything about it before accepting it. Communication is the key to a smooth transaction.

I sold a 73 Glastron Carlson 455 powered jet boat on evilbay in September, and like a dumb @ss, I didn't specify a reserve (I thought for sure the price would have gone through the roof because only a handfull were built). It only sold for $1810, and the winner picked it up in 2 days from Wisconsin

It's a little pricey IMO. Just an observation; when I look at the listings for vehicals, it seems as though a high number of the bidders are fairly new users. I wonder how many of them actually follow through with the deal. I guess if they flake out and don't pay you could always turn them in for not paying and get a credit. I've been looking for my next project on there and there is, or so it seems, some pretty good deals. Looks like all of the previous post had a good experience. I have yet to buy or sell a whole vehical on ebay. Hope it goes good for you.

I sold a 1935 Buick to a fellow in Utah.

He had a check in my hand the next morning.

The shipper had a check the same day.

Have seen a couple of listing that said they were relisting because buyer backed out.

Personally I think the biggest part of problems is attitude on the part of either party involved.........

If you set a reserve at 13,000 on a car and it brings the reserve, how much money does ebay get,and if the reserve is 13,000 and it doesn't bring the reserve how much do they get?

Next time have a "friend" bid on it before it ends so you don't lose your butt on it. Yes you still have to pay Ebay their fee but at least you hang on to the item and can relist it with a reserve.

There is a flat fee for vehicle sales. The current insertion fee is $40, and there is a $40 closing fee if the reserve is met. They don't charge any commision so it doesn't matter what the vehicle sales for in the end

Sometimes I think some of these auctions are rigged that way. They have friends from other states bid an item up, and if by mistake one of their friends ends up winning, they just exchange favorable feedback and laugh about it.

Just an FYI... This kind of bidding is called "Schilling" and is specifically agains eBay rules.... all I'm sayin' is ... be carefull if you do this.

Yeah, I bet it happens more than eBay knows about it... but as long as they get their money, do they care? Prolly not.
