Question factory paint

Were there any factory "orange" paint codes other than HUGGER ORANGE for '67-'72 trucks and blazers?

It's called golf because all the other four letter words were taken.

Has anyone had any luck trying getting paint mixed to these original colors?

My truck is not that color, but I am painting it the original medium poly blue (I hope). I took the paint code off the dash, phoned the local Dupont supplier and they gave me a mix code. I gave that to the guy doing my paint and he said it would be easy to mix. Should know by Tuesday or Wednesday if it works, he had all prep work done on Friday.

dumb newbie question...

My 72 c20 is OCHRE and I don't see it on the chart? I'm pretty sure they offered ochre for at least 3 years and I know it's original on my truck. Well at least I think I know... being a newbie and all. :p

orangeuavol,
There were were quite a few different color of orange that were offered throughthese years.
Do a search on the site for Hugger and you should find some great reading on the subject.

Thanks for the link Hutch! I also have an Ochre '72....i didn't know you could get the paint in a spray can....$30 for 12.5 ounces but i need to do a little touch up so it dosen't look quite as crappy until i can afford a real paint job, lol.

orangeuavol-
You can go into any paint shop and get a paint book and pic out the orig color- Especially if you have the color code. I just went in with the glovebox option sheet code (4508AA - Dark Blue) and found out it was 508 PPG called Dark Blue Poly. Looks cool and I love the idea that it is original.
