Ram horn bolts
The exhaust paint thread reminded me of a question I had.
Does anyone know if you can buy a kit with Stainless Steel bolts to put on ram horn manifolds? I have a set of ceramic coated horns and would rather not have the bolts rust all over them. Any idea why Stainless would not be a good idea? Thanks.

This does bring up a question I have ondered for a long time.
Boaters curs stainless stell hardware placed up against another type of metal (Liek the sheet metal body panels or iron engine parts) yet car guys drool over it. By dad (a boater) complains about the corrosioon that is caused by the dissimilar metals and on his sail boat I have seen this happen. (fresh water rig, no oceans around here) So what gives? Is the stainless thing all hype, or is the boating industy dealing with crappy stainless? Anyone able to shed light on this? Not trying to hi jack the thread here, but it seems very relivent to the topic at hand. |
