Anyone ever convert 8 lug Dana 60 to 5 lug bolt pattern???

I was wondering if anyone has ever converted thier 8 lug Dana 60 over to a GM P/U 5 on 5 Lug pattern???? What did you do for axles? Have them redrilled or did you get new ones from someone? Where did you get the drums from??? Convert to disc????

I am asking because I was thinking of using this rear in my sub as it is in the parts truck I bought and I will be running a 468 bb in it and I want something that will hold up....

Thanks for any help....
Joe

Easiest thing to do is to have a chassis shop remove the full floater housing ends and install new ends. Big ford pattern shold be good. Then buy aftermarket axles with 5 lug pattern. This makes a semi-flaoter 60 equivalent to the early 70's Hemi Mopars. This is not cheap, but not too bad. But building a rear axle is expensive. Period. You have the housing, figure $50 for ends, $125 to have them installed, $300 for new axles, $100 for bearings, bolts, retainers and misc., $250 for gears, $200 setup, $300-$600 for a limited slip. Figure $1000-$1400 or so to get it in your truck. You can take the opportunity to do a rear disc conversion same time. Add another $700.

I know, somebody can get this cheaper. I'm just ballparking prices. But you will spend the money no matter what kind of deals you get, less here, more there all shakes out.
