Please explain

To me why the 79 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 truck I just sold was such a hot item? I got 30 calls on the thing and it had no engine. Is there something about that year and the axels? If so what years are best and in most demand? I think that they wanted it for the running gear to change over their half ton 4x4s. I got every penny I asked for ($500) did I ask too little?

Cause they are purrrrdy.

I figure it's because of the axles too. Not much on 4x4 stuff, but I'm thinking this would the reason. Maybe one of our resident 4wd guys will chime in here and give us the lowdown.

Not one of the callers even asked about the shape of the body. It was even a Sierra Grande and was loaded. Thanks

definately the running gear, if they are building it to do any real off road body doesnt matter.

79 would have had the Dana 44 Front and a 14bolt rear. You probably could have gotten more than that for it.

That is weird. 80 I would think would be the more desirable year. 12 or 14 rear on all and ALL had NP205's.
