What did you get done this weekend?
It's time for our weekly edition of "What did you get done" this weekend.
I was on call again, so I didn't do much truck stuff. I did get a new bowtie to replace my old one on the 77. I haven't put it in yet. Beyond that I ran service calls all weekend and did yardowrk on Sunday after Church. What did y'all get done?

I finished the motor rebuild and tranny swap in my buddies malibu wagon for him. and got PAID! finally
then my dad and I dropped my truck off at the body shop, and picked up the 56 so that we can do the frame and inside of the body before it goes back to the bodyshop. I also picked up my new daily beater, a 1988 beretta GTU with a bad intake gasket. scored that bad boy for 200 bucks. oh yea, I also traded my holley 600 cfm carb straight across for an almost new 650 road demon. hehe, another score

I had a productive weekend; Finally ordered my rims and tires, started cleaning up some of the chrome body molding and getting it resinstalled. Shined up the Beau James hood orniment and got it put back in. And because you can't ever have everything go smoothly all at one time, I blew the tranny out last night on the way to get the wife some ice cream. I'm trying to tell her it was her fault, but she ain't buyin' it!

I cleaned out my garage, and sold the 1970 Camaro SS/RS that was inhabiting it. Technically, I now have no project cars. I don't think it has been like this since I was 15, so I will see how it lasts. My wife has been on me to redo the kitchen, and landscape the back yard. I would rather take a beating than work on the house. So I will keep my eyes open for a decent SWB to take up my spare cash....

I attempted to cut my new bed floor but that didn't go as planned. So, I cut it in half and put it on the trash pile. Time to order another one.....
I cleaned and polished my rear Eagle 212's. A huge difference! Before doing that, the truck slipped off the floor jack when aired out. No damage to anything and surprisingly, not the air tanks. Not a very good weekend.....

Nothing done to truck, but done for truck
I tried to sell a working sears freezer for $40, but didnt have any takers. Its in pretty decent shape and works well, it has a little paint chipped inside and a little bit of rust, but for a garage freeze, $40 is a steal. I have someone coming to look at it today, I need to get the damn thing out of my way. Anyway I started welding up some shelves so I can arrange the garage a lot beter, shelves are made from 1-1/2" x 3" rect. steel tubing. They are 7'-0" long, 7'-0" tall, and 14" deep. This is going to replace two shelves I have spread across the garage and open it up a ton. I will be able to work on the truck in the garage with the door closed so I can work all night on weekends if I want. its going to be great.
I also had some fabric samples sent to me for seats, I may be buying seats soon, I cant stand mine. I have been putting off buying some guns (AK Vepr K & sig p245) I really want for the truck. Its hard because I love my guns and my truck and cant get enough of either, I NEED MORE MONEY! Anyway it was a very productive weekend.

Actually I dropped by the Dodge dealership this weekend. They had a bright red SRT-10 available. My wife said we can't have any "more" trucks right now. I figure if I sell one, we won't have "more", we will have the same amount only different colors.:p Viper motor+ 6 speed= |

Straightend up the house cause we had an open house yesterday. Rained all day Sat. Did not do anything to the truck this weekend. Thought about what I needed to do it. Wrote my lab report for class tonight. Painted the posts on the front of the house....who says you cant paint outside when it's 40º F. LOL

The SRT-10 would be real nice to own, what is the sticker on them? BTW, did you happen to see the SRT-10/Ryan Newman commercial? They were literally "blowing the doors off" all the neighbors cars...it was pretty funny!

Drove to Arlington and picked up a free inline 6 and sm420 from a 66 Chevy pickup. Engine ran good , did not smoke or use oil he said. Not a bad haul and the price was definitely right. Now to get some wiring in the 64 and get that bad boy running.

I finished installing the drop kit on my the rear of my shortbed and got it driveable again. In the process I layed myself open when a wrench slipped. It required three stitches to fix the damage. I still managed to get myself repaired in time to take the wife and kids out and I was able to drive my truck to work today. I guess you could say it was a productive weekend.

It looks like the first one Ken.
There are three vehicles I MUST own before I check out.. 1. A SWB 73-87 (Got it!) 2. Off-beat street rod, non-mainstream (this is where the old Dodge comes into play) 3. 68-70 BB Dodge Charger I really want the 49, hopefully the deal will work out.

I redid the AN fuel lines in my truck a bit, checked out my brake pulsating problem which seems to be a combination of a slightly warped rotor and pitted slider pins which cause the brake pads to hang up on the rotor

Ken,
I broke even on the Camaro. What do you have in mind for the Blazer? I know I can't have (read:afford) the 77, but I really dig the Blazer.

Managed to find a good used OEM door for my son's 80 GMC project. Still looking for a drivers side door, and a left step fender for a short box. Just been too darn cold to do anything else. Really sucks up the wood for the stove when it this cold. I guess that it will have to wait until it warms up. Looked at parts trucks on the net, and watched the 500 from Daytona.

Finaly quit raining long enough for a little rattle can work on the replacement hood for the 75.
Finished adjusting it in the rain. Fits better then the one it replaced ever did since I owned the truck. Try to get a picture of it soon. Looks pretty kewl. Wife said it makes it look more menacing....."That's the look I was going for" I replied. LOL. Pretty well all I was able to do with the weather. Next weekend it's manifold gaskets on the burb.

It had a straight body, and was complete down to the hubcaps and pushbutton radio. It had some rust on the floorboards, but nowhere else. It had been sitting up for about 25 years, but would still start and putter around with a little coaxing. I tried for years to get $350 out of it. I finally sold it about 5 years ago for a little less than $300. Slonaker |
